Mission

The Springfield Civic Association is a volunteer organization dedicated to:

• Encouraging residents to be active in community affairs.
• Promoting civic responsibility through education and advocacy.
• Effectively interacting with local government and community organizations.
• Enhancing the quality of life in Springfield.

Vision

The Springfield Civic Association is the hub that links residents and organizations, enhances communications, and embraces diversity to create a vibrant Springfield community.

Values

In seeking to fulfill its mission and vision, the Springfield Civic Association embraces the following values:

• Communicating consistently and openly.
• Cultivating participation of all residents.
• Promoting civic education.
• Ensuring a non-partisan and neutral environment.
• Respecting tradition and history.

Goals

1. Community Building -- Develop and strengthen the civic association's capability by increasing membership by 10 % each year as well as level of active participation of the current and new membership that would be measured by increased meeting attendance, established committees and increased membership participation.
   
2. Events -- Make a difference in Springfield's quality of life by annually addressing 1-3 areas of community interest or concern through educational and social community events and, if desired, collective action.
   
3. Diversity -- Develop and encourage civic participation and leadership representative of the diversity within the community.
   
4. Create a Place of Gathering -- Develop and initiate the civic association's plan to help revitalize the community by establishing a gathering place for its members.
